State Department Official Charged with Soliciting a Minor: Police

Daniel Rosen, 44, of DC was arrested at his home shortly after noon on Tuesday.

Fairfax County Child Exploitation Unit detectives with the Fairfax County Police have charged a man who works in the U.S. State Department with one count of use of a communications device to solicit a juvenile on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

Daniel Rosen, 44, of the 3200 block of Adams Mill Road, NW, Washington, D.C. was arrested at his home shortly after noon on Tuesday, according to police.

Rosen is director of U.S. Counterrorism at the State Department.

The charge stemmed from an online investigation regarding exchanges he had with a detective, Fairfax County Police said.

Rosen will be extradited to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center at some point within the next 10 days, according to police.
