Stevie Wonder Set to Perform Pop-Up Concert in DC

Performance Monday morning is a taste of what's to come at October concert at Verizon Center, reports say.

Music legend Stevie Wonder is preparing to give some lucky DC area residents a free concert Monday morning at the DC Armory campus, according to the D.C. Office of Motion Picture and Television Development.

The pop-up concert which was scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., is free and open to the public, and it comes as part of a news conference about Stevie Wonder’s “Songs in the Key of Life Performance” tour.

Wonder was expected to give patrons a sampling of his extensive repertoire, playing a few songs at the Armory Mall, at 2400 E. Capitol St. SE.

Wonder has had an extensive career, earning 24 Grammy awards, a Golden Globe and an Oscar for his work.
