Summertime Spots to Visit in DC

Nothing beats summertime in DC, with the beautiful waterfront, historic monuments, and endless activities.

Nothing beats summertime in Washington D.C, with the beautiful waterfront, historic monuments, and endless activities. Take a trip to the Georgetown waterfront this weekend to escape the heat or enjoy a day at the peaceful Rock Creek Park. The following places are some of the best spots to visit in the summertime.

The National Cathedral offers a wonderful tour (free on Sundays!), but don’t forget to visit the rose garden after your visit. Walk through the beautiful gardens and romantic pathways or sit and relax under a huge cherry blossom tree. There’s no better way to end a stressful week than unwinding in one of DC's prettiest gardens.

Relax near the Georgetown waterfront on hot summer days to stay cool (the splash fountain isn't just for kids!) and explore the many shops and restaurants the area has to offer. Walking along the boardwalk while checking out the boats on the water is a favorite summertime activity. Georgetown can’t be beat with its beautiful scenery, shopping, and gourmet restaurants.
