Suspect Arrested in Alleged P Street Armed Carjackings: Police
Ronald E. Johnson, 21, was arrested, charged with Armed Carjacking and Assault with a Deadly Weapon, according to police.

DC Police have arrested a DC man in connection with two armed carjackings that took place Wednesday afternoon on P Street in Georgetown, according to the DC Police Department.
On Wednesday, at about 1:40 p.m., officers from the Second District received a call for two armed carjackings in progress, police said. The first carjacking took place in the 3100 block of P Street, NW. The second carjacking was close by, and took place in the 2600 block of P, Street, NW.

In both carjackings, a suspect approached the driver and demanded their keys while displaying a gun, according to police. The victim in the 3100 block of P Street, NW was able to drive off, police said. A second victim, in the 2600 block of P Street, NW, complied and the suspect drove away in the victim’s car, police said.
U.S. Park Police officers were nearby, observed the vehicle, and attempted to stop the suspect, police said. Police said the suspect then “fled at a high rate of speed.” Park Police Officers continued to follow him.

The suspect then stopped, got out of the car and fled on foot. Police didn’t give the location where he stopped. After a brief foot pursuit, the U.S. Park Police officers apprehended the suspect.
After further investigation by MPDC detectives, Ronald E. Johnson, 21, of Northwest D.C was arrested and charged with two counts of Armed Carjacking and one count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
