Weekend: Sweetlife Festival at Merriweather Post

Sweetgreen got its start in Georgetown. Its Sweetlife Festival features 22 hours of music and more than 25 artists.

It all started in Georgetown: sweetgreen. The locally sourced salad company was founded here in 2007 by Georgetown University grads Jonathan Neman, Nathaniel Ru and Nicholas Jammet.

The “sweetlife,” Neman told Business Insider last week on the occasion of the company opening its first California location, in West Hollywood, is about living your best life.

“You don’t have to compromise,” he said. “You can have great food that is also healthy and also affordable in a cool environment.”

With that in mind, sweetgreen’s Sweetlife Festival kicks off Saturday for 22 hours of music and more than 25 of their (and your) favorite artists at Merriweather Post Pavilion, located at 10475 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia, Md. Doors open at noon.

There are performances scheduled on three stages. On Saturday, you can experience everyone from Billy Idol to Kerry Wheeler. On Sunday, it’s another day of music with artists Calvin Harris, Wet and much, much more.

In addition to two days of music, patrons will also get a chance to sample some of the “best healthy, local food around.”
