The Washington Post reports Flores allegedly tried to punch a District police officer who was trying to throw him out of the club.

According to Takoma Park Police, Flores has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of criminal proceedings.

Alan Goldberg, chief of police for Takoma Park, said in statement that all officers are held to a higher standard.

Takoma Park Police Chief Alan Goldberg told WUSA that officers are held to a higher standard and the reputation of their peers is damaged when their actions cross the line.

An internal investigation into Flores’ case will be done by the Takoma Park department, Goldberg said, and will take appropriate action if the charges are true.

Flores has been a Takoma Park police officer since August 2014.
