These 4 Metro Lines Will Be Single-Tracking Mother's Day Weekend
Taking the Metro this weekend? Be aware that four train lines will be single-tracking.

WASHINGTON, DC — There are plenty of things to do and see in the D.C. area this weekend. Some attractions you'll find include: the DC Funk Parade, Big Bounce America, Virginia Renaissance Faire, and Moms and Macarons Mother's Day Wine Pairing.
If you're thinking of taking the Metro on Saturday, May 11 or Sunday, May 12, you should plan accordingly: Some lines will single-track. Here's everything you need to know before heading out for the weekend:
Red Line trains will operate every 9 minutes between Silver Spring and Friendship Heights from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m, and every 18 minutes between Glenmont and Shady Grove. Trains will also single-track between Medical Center and Grosvenor-Strathmore.

Orange Line trains will run every 20 minutes. Due to rail work, trains will single-track between Cheverly and New Carrollton.
Blue Line trains will operate every 20 minutes. Trains will also single-track between Pentagon City and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

Yellow Line trains will run every 20 minutes. From opening until 10 p.m., trains will only run between Huntington and Mt. Vernon Square. Just like the Blue Line, the Yellow Line will single-track between Pentagon City and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Riders traveling to and from stations north of Mt. Vernon Square should take the Green Line to get to their destination.
Green and Silver Line trains will operate on a normal weekend schedule.
