Three Seriously Injured in Fire Tuesday: Report
WUSA-9 reports two are in critical condition.
A transformer fire inside a former school building in DC’s Shaw neighborhood has sent three people to the hospital with serious injuries, according to a report by The Washington Post.
The building, formerly Shaw Junior High School, is located at the corner of Ninth Street and Rhode Island Avenue NW in DC. The building is now known as Asbury Dwellings.
Pepco is supposed to be shutting down power to the transformer, the newspaper reported.

Firefighters responded to a call at 11:20 after private contract workers were doing some work in the building.
WUSA-9 reports that the former Shaw Junior High School was being used until the end of the school year by students and staff of Duke Ellington School for the Arts, which was undergoing renovations.
