Tickets for Billy Joel Concert at Nats Park on Sale This Week

Tickets go on sale to the public Friday at 10 a.m. for the Billy Joel Live at Nationals Park concert this summer.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Billy Joel aka “The Piano Man” is coming to Nationals Park this summer and tickets go on sale this week.

Some of his biggest hits include “Just the Way You Are,” “Only the Good Die Young” and “You May Be Right.”

The Washington Nationals and Live Nation Entertainment recently announced that Joel will return for his third performance at Nationals Park Saturday, July 30. Tickets for the general public go on sale Friday, Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. at Nationals.com/BillyJoel.

“We are delighted that Billy Joel will be back at Nationals Park for a third time this summer,” Valerie Camillo, chief revenue and marketing officer of the Washington Nationals, said in a news release.“ We are proud that Billy Joel was the first artist to ever play a concert at Nationals Park in 2009, and we look forward to watching him once again captivate the audience with an unforgettable performance.”

American Express® Card Members can purchase tickets before the general public now through Thursday, Jan. 28 at 10 p.m.

Joel has sold 150 million records over the past quarter century, and is the sixth best-selling recording artist of all time, the third best-selling solo artist and is one of the highest grossing touring artists in the world.

In November 2014, Joel received both The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song which honors living musical artists’ lifetime achievement in promoting the genre of song as a vehicle of cultural understanding; entertaining and informing audiences; and inspiring new generations, and the once-in-a-century ASCAP Centennial Award, which is presented to American music icons in recognition of their accomplishments in their respective music genres and beyond.

In December 2013, Joel received The Kennedy Center Honors, one of the United States’ top cultural awards. He is also the recipient of six GRAMMY® Awards, including the prestigious Grammy Legend Award. Joel has been inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has received numerous industry awards including a TONY AWARD for “Movin’ Out,” a Broadway musical based on Joel’s music.

Tickets to the Billy Joel concert are already showing up on Craigslist; on Tuesday, you could purchase four tickets for $100 each.
