Think spring by planning your visit to see the cherry blossoms and attend the opening ceremony next month.

Tired of cold, ice and snow? You can “think spring” by planning to attend this year’s National Cherry Blossom Festival.

The annual event gets underway at the Opening Ceremony on Saturday, March 21. You can reserve your free tickets now.

World-renowned performers will entertain at the historic Warner Theatre to help usher in springtime to Washington, DC and celebrate the 103rd anniversary of the gift of trees from Tokyo to Washington, DC.

Audiences can expect traditional and contemporary acts by U.S. and Japanese musicians, including a performance by AUN-J Classic Orchestra that will fuse traditional Japanese wood instruments with modern tastes. Japanese star Misato Watanabe will also perform her top-ranked songs, in addition to a set by Jazz and classical pianist Manami Morita, who has performed with internationally acclaimed musicians at major events around the world.

Tickets are first come, first-served and there is a $5 processing fee per ticket. Tickets must be reserved in advance of the Opening Ceremony. If last-minute spaces become available, walk-ins will be accepted at 4:45 p.m. on the day of the event.
