It's summer time in Georgetown, and nothing beats heading on down to the ice cream shop to grab yourself a cone with your family or friends. But which place to choose? We've assembled five of the best spots to get ice cream -- or frozen yogurt -- around Georgetown.
Dolcezza, 1560 Wisconsin Ave. NW -- Dolcezza, which opened in 2004, makes gelato in a small kitchen at the northern end of Georgetown. The shop has since expanded to other locations in D.C., but this is the place where it all started.
Thomas Sweet, 3214 P St. NW -- Consistently rated one of the top places to get an icy cold dessert in Georgetown, Thomas Sweet produces small-batch ice cream as well as frozen yogurt and chocolates. Thomas Sweet has four other locations, all in New Jersey. President Obama himself once stopped by the Georgetown location to get a treat.

Crepe-N-Cream, 2818 Pennsylvania Ave. NW -- If you like pastries with your ice cream, this is the place for you. Crepe-N-Cream, which sits on the far east side of Georgetown, provides crepe and ice cream combinations that are virtually endless.
Pinkberry, 3288 M St. NW -- Even if you're not familiar with Georgetown you're no doubt familiar with PinkBerry, an up-and-coming chain that offers many varieties of frozen yogurt and loads of toppings to go along with it. It's also in a great spot, right on M Street and within easy walking distance of the river.

IceBerry, 1332 Wisconsin Ave. NW -- Another popular chain, IceBerry offers froyo made with fresh greek yogurt and all sorts of fruity and sweet toppings.
