WASHINGTON, DC -- GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump will meet with press Monday in Washington, DC and give a tour of his new $200 million luxury hotel (technically still the Old Post Office) opening in September on Pennsylvania Avenue, according to his campaign.

It won't be the first time Trump has mixed his business interests with politics. Trump brands have been on display during his campaign and he's held news conferences at his private Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla. He often points to his business successes as a reason to elect him the country's next president.

With 678 delegates, Trump is the frontrunner among the three remaining candidates in the Republican presidential primary, which also includes Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

On Tuesday, voters in three states and American Samoa will inch the process along:

  • American Samoa Republican convention – 9 Republican unbound delegates
  • Arizona – 58 Republican delegates, 85 Democratic, winner–take-all
  • Idaho Democratic caucus – 27 delegates
  • Utah – 40 Republican delegates, 37 Democratic, delegates awarded proportionally

In DC's Republican caucus held last weekend, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida came in first place, followed by Kasich and trailed by Trump and Cruz. Rubio dropped out of the race Tuesday night after losing the primary in his home state to Trump.

In all, 1,237 delegates are needed to secure the Republican nomination for president. Trump has roiled the Republican establishment, which is trying desperately to stop his march to the nomination before or at its convention in July in Cleveland.

Trump's hotel, formerly the historic Old Post Office and located at 1100 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, sits in the heart of downtown Washington, D.C., near the White House and the U.S. Capitol. Last month, Trump Hotels announced that the hotel would open in September 2016, two years ahead of schedule.

"For decades people have looked in wonderment at the magnificence of the Old Post Office building and structure," Trump said in a news release announcing the early opening of the hotel. "There is nothing like it and we are so proud to have not only brought this incredible building back to life, but also to a position far greater than it ever was at its previous zenith."

The hotel features 263 guest rooms, 35 suites including the 6,300-square foot Trump Townhouse with its own entrance with a pricetag of $25,000 a night, according to Washington City Paper, and a 13,200 square foot Presidential Ballroom which Trump Hotels calls "the largest luxury ballroom in Washington, D.C."

The hotel has already made headlines, after Trump and celebrated chef Jose Andres got into it after Trump's remarks about immigrants. Andres had planned to open a Spanish restaurant at the hotel.

Andres countersued after Trump sued him for breach of contract. Trump and another chef, Geoffrey Zakarian, are also in a legal battle, after Zakarian backed out of a deal to open a restaurant, also due to the immigrant remarks by Trump.
