Man Shot and Killed at Union Station Identified: Report
Incident on anniversary of September 11 terrorist attacks put a scare in shoppers, commuters. Police say it was a domestic incident.

UPDATE: The man who police say was shot by a security guard Friday near Union Station has died, according to a report by NBC-4; he allegedly stabbed a woman at Union Station, according to police. The victim was identified as William Thomas Wilson Jr., 57, of Southeast D.C.

Sparking a scare in a major transportation hub on the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, a stabbing and shooting Friday at DC’s Union Station turned out to be a domestic incident, according to DC Police.
A female was stabbed and a male suspect was shot by a security officer at Union Station today, according to a message posted to social media by D.C. Police. Police said later it was a domestic incident.

Both the woman and the suspect are being treated for injuries, according to police. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
Union Station was temporarily evacuated early Friday afternoon. Train service was expected to begin again near 1:20 p.m. Friday.
Messages posted on social media just before 1 p.m. noted that people were quickly rushed outside.
A statement from the Senate Sergeant at Arms shortly after the evacuation had told the public to avoid the area.
Washington D.C. police noted quickly this was not an active shooter situation.
