Vice President Joe Biden: Not Going to Run for President

"I believe we're out of time," to mount a campaign for nomination, Biden said.

Vice President Joe Biden said Wednesday he won’t run for president, announcing that he thinks the timeframe to mount a campaign “has closed,” he said in the Rose Garden at the White House.

“Good Morning folks, Mr.President, thanks for lending me the Rose Garden,” Biden said, flanked by President Obama and wife Jill Biden.

Biden said that his family’s grieving over the death of his son Beau played into his decision. Beau Biden died at age 46 of brain cancer May 30.
