Volunteer Activity: Invasive English Ivy Removal Event 12/5/15 - Dumbarton Oaks

Join Rock Creek Conservancy, Dumbarton Oaks Conservancy, and National Park Service to save park trees from the chokehold of English ivy

Event Activity: Volunteers will remove English ivy (and other invasive vines) from trees in Rock Creek Park. Tools, gloves, and training on how to identify and cut English ivy will be provided. This event is suitable for ages 16 and up. Student Service Learning hours can be earned by high school students.

When: Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Location: Dumbarton Oaks. We will meet at the top of Lover’s Lane, approximately 3060 R. St NW. Street parking is available.

What to Wear: Please dress appropriately for the weather. Wear sturdy boots or sneakers, no sandals. We recommend long pants and sleeves to prevent contact with poison ivy.

What to Bring: Bring water. Tools and gloves will be provided. Feel free to bring your own tools and gloves if you have them.
