WATCH: Obama Pardons 2015 National Thanksgiving Turkey

With daughters at his side, Obama declares "Abe is now a free bird" and will now be designated "TOTUS — the Turkey of the United States."

President Obama pardoned “Abe” and its alternate “Honest,” the National Thanksgiving Turkeys, Wednesday in a Rose Garden ceremony.

First daughters Malia and Sasha were also in attendance.

“Feel free to keep on gobbling,” Obama told those assembled outside the White House, as he announced that two turkeys would be spared on Thanksgiving Eve.

“I can announce that the American people have spoken, and we have two winners,” he said. “Their names are Honest and Abe — I confess that Honest looks like good eating, but this is a democracy.”
