WATCH: Police Release Video of 'Person of Interest' in Hotel Homicide

Police identify victim in hotel homicide as attorney David Messerschmitt of DC.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a person of interest in reference to the homicide of 30 year-old David Messerschmitt of Northeast, Washington, DC, who was discovered on Tuesday at approximately 11:12 am, in the 1100 block of 14th Street, NW.

Messerschmitt worked as a Technology & Commercial Transactions attorney at DLA Piper, according to his profile on LinkedIn.

The above photos of the person of interest were taken inside of the Donovan Hotel at approximately 7:45 pm, on February 9, 2015.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
