Weather Alert for Georgetown
Heavy rainfall may cause flooding in low-lying areas, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Washington, D.C., from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday night, including McLean.
A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.

Heavy rainfall is expected to move across the region today, bringing rainfall from one inch to three inches, with locally higher amounts possible, according to the NWS.
“The heavy rainfall may cause flooding of low lying areas, especially in urban ares and locations especially prone to freshwater flooding,” the NWS warns.
