Weather Alert for Washington, D.C.

Heavy rain may bring dangerous conditions tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for areas that include Washington, D.C.

A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. The flood watch is in effect from this evening through late tonight.

Forecasters expect periods of moderate to heavy rain across portions of the area, with one to two inches of rain, and locally higher amounts expected by early Thursday.
