Weekend Metro Work May Cause Delays: Dec. 22 - 23
If you're taking the Metro this weekend, you should get to the station early and plan accordingly.

WASHINGTON, DC — There's plenty to see in the D.C. metro area this weekend — including the Downtown Holiday Market, Ugly Sweater Pawrade, Waterskiing Santa, and the Washington Wizards game.
If you're thinking of taking the Metro on Saturday, Dec. 22 or Sunday, Dec. 23, you might want to get to the station early. Service changes may cause some delays. Here's everything you need to know before heading out for the weekend:
During the day, Red Line trains will run every 9 minutes between Farragut North and Silver Spring, and every 28 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont. Trains will single-track between Van Ness-UDC and Friendship Heights.

Orange Line trains will operate every 20 minutes. Trains will single-track between Smithsonian and Federal Center SW.
Silver Line trains will operate every 20 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston. Metro officials say trains will only run to and from Ballston. Riders should use the Orange or Blue lines to reach their final destination.

Blue Line trains will single-track between Smithsonian and Federal Center SW.
Yellow Line trains will operate on a regular weekend schedule between Huntington and Fort Totten.
Green Line trains will also run on a regular weekend schedule.
