Weeklong Thai New Year Festivities at iThai Georgetown
M Street Restaurant to Ring in New Year for 7 Days with Feature Menu and Traditional Festivities

Washington, DC – Wednesday, April 13 marks the start of Songkran -- the celebratory week-long Thai New Year. In keeping with the Thai tradition of observing the holiday with festivals and rituals for an entire week, iThai is bringing the celebration to Georgetown with some of these traditions between Wednesday, April 13 and Wednesday, April 20.
During the New Year week, iThai will offer a special New Year menu, featuring iThai’s most authentic recipes: Sai Oua (Northern style Thai sausage), Salted Fish Fried Rice and Cantaloupe Sago (made with tapioca and coconut milk).
From April 13-16, traditional Thai dancers will perform the four ritual New Year dances. Ceremonies will begin at 5 p.m. each evening.
