What Time Is Super Bowl 2015 On?
A viewing guide and where to watch the game in Georgetown.

What time is Super Bowl XLIX (49) on Sunday? What channel is it on? Who’s playing? For those of us who aren’t football aficionados but love the hoopla of the annual Big Game...here are your answers:
- What time is it on? The “pre-game” hoopla begins at 12 noon ET with “Football America: Our Teams,” followed by the official pre-game show starting at 1 p.m. The actual game begins at 6:30 p.m. ET and will likely run until 10 p.m. with a recap post-game show running from 10-10:30 p.m. (If you’re a Jimmy Fallon fan, be sure to check out the Tonight Show airing from Phoenix at midnight ET with Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart and Ariana Grande.)
- What channel is it on? The game is on NBC. (You can also watch it online at nbcsports.com.) NBC Universo will air the exclusive Spanish-language telecast of the Super Bowl.
- Who is playing? It’s the New England Patriots vs. the Seattle Seahawks. Russell Wilson and the defending-champion Seahawks meet Tom Brady and the Patriots, the last back-to-back champs (‘04-’05). The Pats lost Super Bowl XLII there.
- Where is the game being played? University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
- Who’s performing in the half-time show? Katy Perry and Lenny Kravitz perform at half-time.
What to look for: Undoubtedly there will be some continuing discussion of “deflategate,” but also be sure to check out the commercials, which are talked about just as much (or sometimes even more than) the actual game. NBC reportedly sold out available 30-second spots at $4.5 million each, according to the Los Angeles Times. Check out this compilation of what the E! Network calls the “Best Superbowl Ads Ever.”
Also, NBC‘s Savannah Guthrie, who was raised in Tucson, Ariz., will sit down for an interview with President Obama to be aired during the pre-game show, at 4 p.m. ETC. Obama has granted interviews in the past to the network airing the Super Bowl.
