White House on 'Lockdown' Wednesday: Reports

The White House was on lockdown Wednesday afternoon for about an hour while officials checked out what media reports said was an unattended package across the street.

ABC News reported that Secret Service agents were seen forcing news crews inside and keeping journalists in a briefing room.

An unattended package was found across the street from the White House at Lafayette Park and Pennsylvania Avenue, according to a report by Jim Acosta of CNN. The Secret Service said DC police and fire investigated the package, and gave the all-clear, he reported.
