Will Kenny Loggins Play a Concert in This Guy's Living Room?
DC man raises Kickstarter goal of $30,000 and then some for concert.

It started out maybe as a joke by a mega-fan, but DC resident Erick M. Sanchez reached his goal of $30,000 and then some to bring Kenny Loggins to his house for a private concert in his living room.
Sanchez raised the funds for his proposed concert on Kickstarter, breezing past his goal Tuesday night of $30,000 and hitting $30,362 or 101 percent.
Loggins started out as a duo in a ‘70s singing group, Loggins and Messina, with Kenny Messina, and has remained popular through the years. Some of Kenny Loggins’ greatest hits include “This Is It,” “Whenever I Call You ‘Friend’” and “Footloose.”

Here’s what Sanchez, who describes himself as a “Kenny Loggins/Lionel Richie superfan and club sandwich consumer,” put out there on Kickstarter, to entice friends, family and strangers to help him reach his goal:
“Look, this is simple. If I raise 30 grand, Kenny Loggins will come play an acoustic set at my house for 75 minutes.

Like I said before, if I can raise $30K, Kenny Loggins, Mr. Danger Zone, and his bandmates, Georgia Middleman & Gary Burr (collectively known as Blue Sky Riders) will fly to DC and play a private show in my living room. You’ll hear some old and new hits, but I need some cash to make this happen. If you’re looking to make a dream come true, put your money where your ears are and drop some cash. Don’t do it for me. Don’t do it for Kenny, Georgia, and Gary. Do it for America.
$300 guarantees you a seat in the house, if you’re one of the first 20 to donate that amount (SOLD OUT). Any other donation will give you a chance to sit in. Audience will be limited to 50 people. No negotiations-- those are the rules.
The date of the show will be determined if and when I get fully funded.”
Sanchez has really thought this through: He has limited edition concert T-shirts by American Island Company and frozen custard treats (presumably for the band members and the 20 folks who forked over $300 apiece to attend the concert) provided by Goodies Frozen Custard & Treats.
The stunt has gotten Sanchez noticed by local media and all over the country, by USA Today, TMZ and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Sanchez appeared via Skype to answer questions about the funding campaign on Kimmel’s show.
As for Loggins, he will actually be in the DC area this week, at The Birchmere club, Friday night in Alexandria, Va.; will he make a detour to Sanchez’s house while he’s in town?
