Your Photos: Snowfall Hits DC Metro Area
Snowfall that was heavier than predicted in many areas surprised many across the area, including local schools.

The National Weather Service predicted 1”-2” of snow for Tuesday morning, but many areas across DC received more than that. Many parents were surprised that schools decided to conduct business as usual.
Other activities affected: After-school activities canceled, trash pickup canceled in some areas, some roadways closed and Postal Service stating they may have problems delivering mail Tuesday.
The entire area is under a Winter Storm Warning until 1 p.m.
