1 Critically Injured As Fire Breaks Out In DC (Video)
A second person had to be transported to the hospital after the blaze erupted in Southeast.

WASHINGTON, DC -- One person has critical injuries and a second person was taken to the hospital after a fire broke out in an apartment complex in Southeast Wednesday evening.
D.C. Fire and EMS tweeted at 7:53 p.m. that they were responding to a working fire in the 3400 block of Minnesota Avenue SE, with fire showing in a first-floor apartment.
One victim was removed and transported with "critical life threatening" injuries, D.C. Fire and EMS added in a later tweet.

The fire extended to the second floor of the 12-unit building, and a second occupant was transported with a medical issue that was secondary to the fire.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control.
