1 Killed, 2 Injured In Washington Heights Shooting
Metropolitan Police Department detectives are investigating a shooting in Washington Heights that left one man dead and two injured.
WASHINGTON, DC -- Metropolitan Police Department detectives are investigating a Sunday afternoon shooting incident in the Washington Heights area that left one man dead and two others injured, according to a police report.
MPD officers from the Seventh District responded Feb. 2, at about 4:08 p.m., to the 4300 block of 3rd Street, S.E., for the report of a shooting. Arriving on the scene, officers discovered an unconscious adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS found no signs of life. The decedent, who was identified as Raheem Murray, 26, of no fixed address, was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
At the scene of the shooting, officers found two other victims. One man, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, was taken to an area hospital to be treated for life threatening injuries. The third victim was located later after he sought medical treatment at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
