11 DC Residents Displaced After Wall Collapses From Heavy Rain
Eleven people were displaced from their apartment building after a basement wall collapsed from heavy rain.
WASHINGTON, DC — Eleven people were displaced from their apartment building in Southeast Washington after a wall collapsed from the heavy rain over the weekend.
A 50-foot section of a wall in the basement of a three-story apartment building collapsed in the 3800 block of V St., SE. Saturday, police said.
Residents were evacuated and no one was injured. The city and the Red Cross are helping the displaced residents while the building is considered unsafe for re-occupancy.
