WASHINGTON, DC — On a day designated for Electoral College results to be certified and the presidential election of Joe Biden to be confirmed, angry loyalists of President Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday in support of Trump and his unfounded claims that the November election were being stolen.

Pro-Trump supporters who had gathered outside the Capitol forced their way inside the building after Trump continued to repeat his false claims that the election was fraudulent.

Trump, who has yet to concede his November loss to Biden, posted a video on Twitter later in the day that "we cannot play into the hands of these people."
