Mayor Muriel Bowser Thursday laid out the criteria for reopening the District, following all of the closures due to the coronavirus pandemic. She called the recovery as a once in a generation opportunity to reopen the city in a way that builds a more equitable D.C.
The District recently started reporting positive coronavirus cases and deaths by age, gender, race and ward.
Bowser noted one of the most distressing aspects of the pandemic has been the racial inequities exposed by her daily updates on the numbers of confirmed positive cases and deaths due to COVID-19.
