1st-Degree Sexual Abuse Charges Filed Against Northwest Man

D.C. Police arrested a Northwest man in connection with an attempted sexual assault in the Marshall Heights area.

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division, Sexual Assault Unit arrested a suspect in connection with an assault with intent to commit first-degree sexual abuse Friday morning in the Marshall Heights area, according to a police release.

According to police, the suspect approached the victim around 10:24 a.m., in the 4600 block of B St., S.E. He then tried to sexually assault the victim. Responding officers from the Sixth District were able to apprehend the suspect as he was attempting to flee the area.

Police arrested Kenneth Lewis, 35, of Northwest, and charged him with assault with intent to commit first-degree sexual abuse.
