2 Assault On Police Officer Incidents Under Investigation
D.C. police detectives are asking the public's help in identifying and locating two men suspected of assaulting police officers recently.
WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department detectives are seeking the public's help in identifying and locating two suspects who they say assaulted police officers in two recent incidents.
Around 5:23 p.m., on Aug. 8, a man approached an on-duty MPD officer in the 3000 block of M Street, N.E. Police say he then threatened and assaulted the officer, before fleeing the scene. MPD released a photo of the suspect caught on a nearby surveillance camera.

In the second incident, police were making an arrest around 12:30 a.m., on Aug. 28, when a man approached an on-duty MPD officer in the intersection of 15th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. Police say the man assaulted the officer and then fled the scene. The officer was treated for non-life threatening injuries at an area hospital.
