2 Counts Of First Degree Murder Filed Against Northeast Man
Homicide detectives charged a Northeast man in connection with two fatal shootings that took place in November.
WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a Northeast man in connection with two fatal shootings last month, according to a police release.
In the first case, officers from the Sixth District responded around 12 a.m., on Nov 3. for the report of a shooting in the 4500 block of Dix Street, Northeast. Police found Demetrius Benson, 34, of Southeast suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS transported Benson to a nearby hospital for treatment, but all lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.
In the second case, Sixth District officers responded around 12:40 p.m., on Nov. 29, to the 4500 block of Benning Road, Southeast, after hearing the sound of gunshots. They found Demeitri Anderson, 23 of Northeast, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. FEMS determined that Anderson had died and later transported him to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Police arrested Antoine Turner, 27, of Northeast, on Thursday, and charged him with two counts of first degree murder while armed. At the time of his arrest, Turner was in possession of a firearm. Police also charged him with felon in possession of a firearm.
MPD released Turner's prior arrest history, which includes charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, distribution of a controlled substance, cruelty to animals, possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon, carrying a pistol without a license, burglary one, and robbery force and violence.
