2 DC Men Wanted In 2 Recent Homicides: Police

WASHINGTON, DC — Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department have identified two suspects in connection with two recent homicides in the District, according to a police release.

In the first case, officers from the Fifth District responded to the 800 block of 19th St., N.E., on Sunday, July 12, around 4:02 a.m., for the report of a shooting. Arriving on the scene, they found an unconscious woman inside a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire EMS determined the woman had died, and she was transported later to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Police identified the woman as Shanika Williams, 28, of Northeast.

MPD named Martin Robinson, 29, of Southeast, as a suspect in the case. He is wanted on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant for second degree murder while armed. Police warn that he should be considered armed and dangerous.

In the second case, officers from the Sixth District responded on Thursday, Aug. 6, around 5:47 p.m., for the report of the sounds of gunshots in the 600 block of 46th Place, S.E. They found an adult man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. FEMS examined the man and determined that he had died. He was later taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

A second adult man, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries. In addition, a juvenile male, suffering from a gunshot wound, walked into an area hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police identified the deceased victim as Michael Brittingham, 26, of Northeast.

Police named Dreaun Young, 17, of Southeast, as a suspect in this case. He is wanted on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, which charges him as an adult with second degree murder while armed.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District. Police ask anyone with information about either of these homicides to call 202-727-9099 or send a text message to 50411.
