2 Dead, 1 Injured In Pair Of Shooting Incidents: DC Police

Homicide detectives are investigating two fatal shootings, one in Fort Totten and the other in Mayfair.

WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating two recent shooting incidents that left one person injured and two dead, according to a police release.

In the first incident, officers from the Fourth District responded around 9:36 p.m., for the report a shooting. Arriving on the scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS transported the man to a nearby hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries. On Tuesday, the man, identified as 30-year-old Delonte Wall of Northeast, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, in the 3800 block of Hayes Street, Northeast.

In the second incident, officers from the Sixth District responded around 6:46 p.m. on Tuesday, to the 3800 block of Hayes Street, Northeast for the sounds of gunshots. They found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. DC FEMS responded to the scene and determined one of the victims had died. The second victim was taken to an area hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police identified the deceased victim as Tyrone Wright, 32, of Northeast.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any persons responsible for committing a homicide in the District. Police ask anyone with information about this case to call 202-727-9099 or send an anonymous tip by text to 50411.
