2 Homicides Under Investigation In Southeast: DC Police
D.C. Police are investigating two recent shooting incidents in Southeast that left one woman and a 16-year-old boy dead.
WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating two recent shooting incidents that left a woman and a 16-year-old boy dead, according to a police release.
In the first incident, officers from the Seventh District responded around 3:19 p.m., on Friday, to the 4200 block of 4th St., S.E., for the report of a shooting. They found a woman, inside a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound, and a second woman suffering from a minor graze wound. D.C. Fire and EMS determined that the first woman had died. They then treated the second woman on the scene for her injury. MPD identified the decedent as Lorraine Marie Thomas, 21, of Southeast.
In the second incident, officers from the Seventh District responded around 1 a.m., Sunday, to the 1300 block of Maple View Place, S.E., for the report of a shooting. They found a 16-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound. FEMS transported the boy to a nearby hospital, but all lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead. MPD identified the deceased victim as Kareem Palmer of Southeast.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any persons responsible for committing a homicide in the District.
