2 Men Doused With Bleach At DC Bar: Report
Police are investigating an incident involving a suspect throwing an open bottle of bleach at two men from the window of a DC bar.

WASHINGTON, DC — Two DC bar-goers were sent to the hospital Wednesday night after an unknown suspect threw an open bottle of bleach at them from the second floor window of the Logan Circle bar Black Whiskey, America's LGBT News Source Washington Blade reports.
Black Whiskey is located directly above the gay bar Trade. According to a DC police report, the victims were standing on the sidewalk outside the bar — where both Black Whiskey and Trade customers go to smoke — before they were doused in bleach at about 12:40 a.m.
The police report indicates that the two male victims are residents of Fort Leonard Wood, a U.S. Army facility in Missouri. The two men allegedly got in an argument with two other people in front of the bars.

One of the suspects then allegedly threw an open bottle of bleach out of Black Whiskey's second floor window, drenching the victims and getting bleach into their eyes. The suspect then fled the scene and exited Black Whiskey from a rear door, police said.
Zach Link, a Trade customer, told Washington Blade that Trade employees brought water bottles and rags to help soothe the victim's eyes and faces while an ambulance made its way. The two men were transported to Howard University Hospital, according to the police report.

Police classified the incident as an assault with a dangerous weapon. DC police spokesperson Margarita Mikhaylova told the Washington Blade that at this time, police don't have an indication that this was a hate/bias crime.
“This case is actively being investigated and should circumstances arise that indicate hate/bias it will be investigated as such,” Mikhaylova said.
