2 Suspects Charged In Fatal Shooting Of DC Man
Prince George's County Police charged two D.C. men with the March 21 fatal shooting of a District man in Cheverly, Maryland.
CHEVERLY, MD — Homicide detectives from the Prince George's County Police Department arrested two suspects Wednesday in connection with the March 21 fatal shooting of a D.C. man in Cheverly, Maryland. Police identified the deceased victim as 38-year-old Damaris Lindsey.
Around 12:20 p.m., PGPD patrol officers we dispatched to the area of northbound Interstate 295 near the eastbound exit of Route 50 for the report of a shooting. They found Linsdey suffering from a gunshot wound in the driver's seat of a van that had crashed into a guardrail. A short time later, he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
A preliminary investigation revealed two suspects in the case: Javelle McClary, 18, of the 700 block of Brandywine Street in Southeast, and Davonte Brothers, 25, of the 2300 block of 25th Street in Southeast. McClary and Brothers targeted the victim and this was not a random crime, according to police.

PGPD charged both suspects with first and second degree murder and related charges. McClary is in the custody of the Department of Corrections, where he is being held without bond. Brothers in the the custody of the Metropolitan Police Department and is awaiting extradition to Prince George's County.
