2 Wanted In Fatal Shooting Of DC Man In January Arrested In GA: Police

Atlanta police arrested two men wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Marquette White on Jan. 21 in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC — Two men wanted in the Jan. 21 fatal shooting of 20-year-old Marquette White of Northeast D.C. were arrested Thursday in Atlanta, Georgia, according to a police release.

Maurice Williams Jr., 19, and Seaun McDowney, 18, both of no fixed address, were taken into custody by the Atlanta Police Department. They were both wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for first degree murder while armed in connection with White's death, according to police.

Suffering from gunshot wounds, White was found by officers from the Metropolitan Police Department the 3800 block of Commodore Joshua Barney Drive, Northeast. They'd be called to the area around 8:36 p.m., for the report of a shooting.

White was taken to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Williams and McDowney will be returned to the District, where they will be served with the outstanding arrest warrant.
