2017 Cherry Blossoms Update: Dreary Friday Will Give Way to Glorious Weekend

But be warned, cherry blossom photographers: the sun may be scarce this weekend despite warm temperatures.

WASHINGTON, DC — Friday started off cold and wet, but the weather in the District should dramatically warm up this weekend, and Saturday may end up being the best day to catch the cherry blossoms before they're gone.

Temperatures are expected to soar up to a high of 75 degrees on Saturday. The National Park Service expects that the cherry blossoms will reach their peak this weekend, and with Sunday projected to be quite cloudy, this may be your best chance to catch the cherry blossoms in all their glory.

It won't be a perfect day due to mostly cloudy skies and a small chance of rain. But you should get a few brief windows of sunlight to capture those perfect photos of the monuments framed by the pink hues of the blossoms.

If you're able to get out of work and head to the Tidal Basin next week, your best bet will be Tuesday or Wednesday, which will feature partly cloudy skies.
