UPDATE July 17 5:47 p.m.: So far there have been no changes made to tonight’s All-Star Game. About 4:30 p.m. Washington Nationals staffers said the Home Plate Gate was closed for storm clean up but all other gates are open. The home team will decide whether a game starts on time or is delayed, reports WTOP. Once play has begun the MLB umpires decide if there are rain delays. League rules encourage them to make every effort to see the game is completed.

MONDAY: The Home Run Derby (8 p.m., ESPN)
TICKETS: Sure, the All-Star Game is sold out, but you can always get tickets on the secondary market. Unfortunately, you'll be paying quite a bit. The very cheapest tickets on StubHub are $249, and those are for Standing Room Only. To get an actual seat, you'll have to pay well above $300.
Tickets to Monday's Home Run Derby are a bit more reasonable, but the cheapest one as of Friday afternoon was $173.78.
TRANSPORTATION: Don't even bother trying to drive to the game. That's true for a standard Nats home game, but it's especially important to keep in mind for the All-Star Game. Instead, just take the Metro to the Navy Yard stop on the Green Line, which lets you out just a block from the park's entrance. WMATA says they're suspending all work on their tracks to avoid any problems over the All-Star Game weekend, and Mastercard has teamed with Major League Baseball to offer late-night rail service to fans. The last train will depart Navy Yard station at 12:22 a.m. toward Greenbelt, and 12:48 a.m. toward Branch Avenue (or 30 minutes following the events, whichever is later).
ROAD CLOSURES: Officials will close L Street NW from 7th to 9th streets NW, which is right in front of the stadium from 12 p.m. Sunday until 12 p.m. Wednesday, according to WTOP.
The following closures will be in effect from 12 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Wednesday next week:
- First Street, SE from M Street, SE to Potomac Avenue, SE — Southbound Traffic Only
- Potomac Avenue, SE from First Street, SE to South Capitol Street, SE — Westbound Traffic Only
- Van Street, SE from M Street, SE to N Street, SE
- Half Street, SE from M Street, SE to N Street, SE
- N Street, SE from South Capitol Street, SE to New Jersey Avenue, SE
- N Place, SE from First Street, SE to the DC Water Facility Entrance Gate
WEATHER FORECAST: It's going to be hot, but then again it is baseball in July, so what did you expect? A "mini-heatwave" is moving into the area this weekend, according to the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang. That means temperatures in the 90s and a heat index in the triple digits. But at least it should be dry for the most part, although storms threaten the All-Star Game itself on Tuesday. There's a 50 percent chance of storms throughout the day, CWG says.
