2nd Suspect Charged In Langdon Fatal Shooting

D.C. Police charged a second suspect in connection with the January fatal shooting of a Northeast man.

WASHINGTON, DC —Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a second suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of Lamar Walters 38, of Northeast in January, according to a police report.

On Monday, Jan. 6, around 1:36 p.m., officers from the Fifth District responded to the report of a shooting in 2400 block of Franklin Street, N.E. They found Walters suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS transported him to a nearby hospital to be treated for life threatening injuries. All efforts to save his life failed, and Walters was pronounced dead. Police also located two other adult males who had sought treatment at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Jermaine Harris, 18, of Northwest, on April 14. He was charged with first degree murder while armed (premeditated).

Task Force members also acted on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant on Friday, April 17, located and arrested Maurice Johnson, 21, of Northeast. He was charged with first degree murder while armed (premeditated).

The FBI Washington Field Office assisted MPD in the apprehension of both suspects. The case remains under investigation. The case remains under investigation.
