3 Men Accused Of Killing AU Graduate In DC Are Sentenced: Report

Prosecutors say Matthew Shlonsky was caught in the crossfire of a gang battle in D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC -- Three men accused of killing an American University graduate during a 2015 shootout have been sentenced, according to a report.

WTOP reports that Andre Dudley, 22, Marcus King, 22, and Christopher Proctor, 28 have all been sentenced for single counts of voluntary manslaughter while armed and two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon. Dudley got 20 years, Proctor got 17 years, and King got 14 years.

Dudley is accused of opening fire during a gang dispute near the Howard Theatre shortly before 5 p.m. on Aug. 15, 2015. Matthew Shlonsky, 23, was walking to a concert at the theater when he was struck by a bullet. Shlonsky, who had graduated from American University the year before, was pronounced dead.
