3rd Arrest Made In Fatal Shooting Of Northeast Man: Police Report

D.C. homicide detectives made a third arrest Monday in connection with the Oct. 6 fatal shooting of 30-year-old Michael Bright of Northeast.

WASHINGTON, DC — Homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department made a third arrest Monday in connection with the Oct. 6 fatal shooting of 30-year-old Michael Bright of Northeast, according to a police release.

Officers from the Sixth District responded around 9:08 p.m., on Oct. 6 for the report of the sound of gunshots in the 1100 block of 45th St., N.E. They found Bright suffering from a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and EMS took him to a nearby hospital, but all lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.

Acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest Warrant on Oct. 29, members of the Major Violator Section’s Fugitive Unit arrested a 28-year-old adult male of Northeast and charged him with first degree murder while armed – felony murder. On the next day, members of the same unit arrested a 23-year-old adult male of Bladensburg, Maryland, and charged him with first degree murder while armed – felony murder.

On Monday, members of the Capital Regional Fugitive Task Force, acting on a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, arrested Exavior Pinnix, 21, of Accokeek, Maryland, and also charged him with first degree murder while armed – felony murder.
