52-Year-Old Southeast Man Killed In Anacostia Shooting: Police

D.C. Police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Monday morning in Anacostia.

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Monday morning in Anacostia, according to a police release. Police identified the decedent as Everett King, 52, of Southeast.

Around 11:25 a.m., officers from the Seventh District responded for the report of a shooting in the 2400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, S.E. They found King suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS transported King to a nearby hospital, but all life-saving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.
