5th 'Shopping Cart Killer' Victim May Be DC Woman: Police
D.C. police identified a Northeast woman as a possible fifth victim of "shopping cart killer" suspect Anthony Eugene Robinson.

WASHINGTON, DC — A spokesperson with the Metropolitan Police Department told WTOP that "shopping cart killer" suspect Anthony Eugene Robinson is a person of interest in the death of Sonya Champ of Northwest.
Champ, 40, was found by police around 11:30 a.m. Sept. 7, 2021, unconscious and unresponsive inside a shopping cart in the 200 block of F Street, Northeast.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and ruled that Champ's death was a homicide. Police said they are working to determine whether Champ is Robinson's fifth victim, according to WTOP.

Fairfax County Police in Virginia said they believe Robinson is linked to two badly decomposed bodies that were found on Dec. 15, 2021, in a large plastic container near a shopping cart in the Alexandria area. Police identified the victims as Cheyenne Brown, 29, of D.C., and Stephanie Harrison, 48, of Redding, California.

The police believe the women were victims of a suspected serial killer dubbed the "shopping cart killer" because the person used shopping carts to move and dump murder victims' bodies in remote areas.
In January, Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis said Robinson, who is from New York, is the primary suspect in the killing of the two women. Fairfax County police are partnering with law enforcement agencies in New York and the D.C. area as part of their investigation into Robinson, Davis said.
On Nov. 23, Harrisonburg police identified two victims in an open lot in the city's commercial district, according to Police Chief Kelley Warner. Police arrested Robinson, 35, in connection with the killings of Allene Elizabeth Redmon, 54, of Harrisonburg, and Tonita Lorice Smith, 39, Charlottesville.
So far, Robinson has been charged in Harrisonburg with two counts of first-degree murder and two felony counts of concealing, transporting or altering a dead body in the killings of Redmon and Smith. He is accused of using a shopping cart to move the bodies of the two women in Harrisonburg.
The number of charges faced by Robinson "will go up," Maj. Ed O'Carroll, bureau chief of the Major Crimes, Cyber and Forensics Bureau of the Fairfax County Police, said in January.
Anyone with information about Champ's death is asked to call the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099. Anonymous tips may be submitted via the department's text tip line by texting a message to 50411.
MPD is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who supplies information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for a homicide in the District.
