$75K In Reward Money Offered In DC Mass Shooting Case
Police Academy students start GoFundMe campaign to help off-duty officer who was one of the victims of Sunday's mass shooting.
WASHINGTON, DC — The Washington field offices of the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) have each donated $25,000 in reward money for information that would lead to the arrest of suspects in connection with Sunday's mass shooting in Southeast, according to a police release.
Around 12:20 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District were at a large gathering in the 3300 block of Dubois Place, S.E., when they heard gunshots. After canvassing the area, the officers found multiple victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
D.C. Fire and EMS transported victims to nearby hospitals for the treatment of life and non-life threatening injuries. All life-saving efforts fail to save one victim — 17-year-old Christopher Brown, of Northeast — who was pronounced dead. In total, 22 victims sustained gunshot wounds and two others were injured while fleeing the scene.
