Acts of Kindness - Art Helps!

As we emerge from our cocoons, we return to a different world while adapting to the new norm. Kindness and art will help in this return.

"Let Love be your Guide, Let Love be your Light "

- Vian Borchert -

The world is not in a good place, isn't it? Have you noticed lately how short-tempered people are, how the communication is lacking, how temperaments are boiling up. Covid has done one thing beyond spreading the disease, it has made people irritable with each other. For sure the latest conditions have weighed down on people, on their moods, on their feelings and their interaction with each other. Nevertheless, I write to call upon civility and love to roam around once again in our lands and beyond. For love seems to have become a forgotten thing of the past. For love and empathy should be and will be what bring a society together. The empathy for your fellow human is utterly needed in a time where humanity is hit hard by a deadly disease, by natural disasters, by catastrophes, by death. We need to be more patient with each other, more kind with each other, more human with each other. The cold shoulder treatment should be replaced with open arms and a kind smile. Life carries on with love and acts of kindness, not acts of meanness. Life flourishes with love - children flourish and grow with love. Flowers and trees grow with love and care. Look at the sun, look at its warmth and its beauty that it bestows upon humanity. Let it be an example of the warmth that we need to radiate to each other. Let us all shine our light bright and be full of sunshine and hope. Be a light in someone’s darkness. Support each other with loving words; even spread the support and love to strangers. Embrace your children and tell them you love them. Show them the love. For love will grow if it is shown.
Art is a form of love on its own. During Covid, I vowed to myself to be more open to the world through showing more of my art, vision and talents. It is a way of how I spread my love to my community and my fellow human being through my love for art, and sharing the art that springs out of my creativity.
Art also has proven to brighten up moods and make one more fulfilled. For engaging in a creative activity helps stimulate brain cells growth, and art can ensure wellness for ages to come. Engage in the arts and let art relax you and relieve the stress that wears you down. Hence, the best way to get your artistic and creative juices flowing is by taking an art class. For the Fall, noted artist Vian Borchert will be teaching three morning art classes that guide the budding art students in creating skillful artwork while allowing oneself to let go of the daily troubles and focus on one’s own creativity and self discovery. Science has proven that when people feel relaxed, and are in a good place mentally then they become at ease with themselves and more accepting of others, and thus the circle of well being starts shaping up in communities and in societies all over again. Wellness will lead to goodness through creative undertaking.
Borchert offers these classes that help people engage in a creative manner through drawing and painting. Here are the online classes. These Fall classes are via Glen Echo Park's Yellow Barn Studio.
