'Aggressive' Fire Damages DC Rowhouses, Displaces Residents
An extreme fire damaged three rowhouses, displaced about eight people and sent two firefighters to the hospital early Tuesday morning.
WASHINGTON, DC — An extreme fire damaged three rowhouses, displaced about eight people and sent two firefighters to the hospital early Tuesday morning in the Truxton Circle neighborhood of Northeast Washington.
The two alarm blaze was reported at around 1:15 a.m. in the 200 block of Morgan St. NW., authorities said. Smoke detectors alerted the residents and gave them time to escape before the fire engulfed the rowhouses.
Authorities said the "aggressive" fire involved the second floor, attic and rear porches of two occupied rowhouses.

The heaviest part of the fire had been knocked down by about 2 a.m. The Red Cross was called in to help displaced residents.
