• 18-year-old killed in Tenleytown shooting (dcnewsnow.com) — An 18-year-old man has died after a Thursday afternoon shooting in Tenleytown, where MPD found him wounded in an alley off the 4500 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW. He later died at the hospital, and detectives are still investigating. Anyone in Washington with information can contact MPD by phone or text, with a reward of up to $25,000 available.    

• Mayor Bowser delivers commencement addresses at Howard, UDC amid mixed reaction (wusa9.com) — Mayor Muriel Bowser drew mixed reactions at Howard University’s commencement in Washington, where cheers, boos, and “Free D.C.” chants greeted her keynote and honorary degree. Later at UDC’s ceremony at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, she received a warmer response while reflecting on her years leading the District and its ongoing push for self-governance.
